Congress workers protested at the Collectorate against irregular power supply. Alleged that due to power cuts, farmers’ crops and industrial production are getting affected. Electricity department officials are not paying attention to the power cuts.

Under the leadership of Congress District President Aslam Khurshid, the district and metropolitan workers reached the Collectorate on Saturday afternoon. Here the workers raised slogans against the state government. During this, the district president alleged that on one hand the rainfall has decreased this time.

On top of that, the low supply of electricity has troubled everyone. Along with the general public, farmers, workers and students are facing many problems. Inflation has increased due to a decrease in production in all the small industries established in the district.

This is also adversely affecting the paddy crop of the farmers. Activists say that due to the dilapidated wires in Karula area and voltage fluctuations in Gadikhan, household appliances are getting damaged but the officials of the electricity department are not affected.

To save the common people along with farmers and workers from losses, Congress leaders have handed over a memorandum addressed to the Governor to the Additional City Magistrate. They have demanded the district administration to restore the power supply soon.

Amirul Jafri, Vice President and spokesperson Sudhir Pathak, Akram Khan, Afzal Sabri, Bhayanak Singh Buddhist, Gaurav Trivedi, Rajendra Valmiki, Arshad Parvez, Shishupal Jatav, Shyamsaran, Vivek Agarwal, Satish Diwakar, Darshan Lal, Sardar Jagjit Singh, Anurag Sharma etc were present in the demonstration.
